This is not just goat yoga with adorable new pals 🙅♂️
It’s an opportunity to break through the initial awkwardness of doing something new for your fitness while gaining a deeper understanding of your power as consumers in agriculture, and hanging out in the Miami sun to enjoy meeting goats and new friends.
“Hey from Miami, I’m Emily ☀️ Growing up I have always wanted to become a large animal veterinarian so I went to a high school with a fabulous pre-vet program.
A part of that program was for us to pick a year-long project. For me, what I always like to call my “flour baby” project, I got a goat. My first goat–Aiyana. We traveled around Florida and I showed her, bred her, and fell in love with the entire dairy process and the industry. From there I decided to work on larger farms such as Erinwood Farms and learn as much as I can.”
“I continued to progress in the industry and ended up traveling across the United States, acquiring other goats.
All at the same time, I was interning with Florida International University’s Agroecology Program. Where I was learning about sustainable agricultural practices.
One of the important factors of sustainable urban agriculture is agricultural education as most people in an urban environment feel removed from where their food comes from. This inspired me to find a way to incorporate both my passion for goats and sustainable agriculture. And there comes Sunday Morning Goat Yoga.”
“Goat Yoga allows me to educate people on their power as consumers to drive the agricultural industry. Goat Yoga is also largely for my goats. It gives them time to play with other goats and enjoy hugs from new human friends.
Yoga can be intimidating, but the goats make that initial awkwardness of doing something new & scary fade away within seconds.”
“My Sunday Morning Goat Yoga experience is unique because there are goats, yes, but it’s also an opportunity to gain an understanding for the importance of sustainable agriculture. It is not just a yoga class and leave, but it also allows for a social hour at the end where our participants often hang out in the sun to enjoy their goats and meeting new people.
It truly is a safe space to enjoy a relaxing yet educational time. I hope people walk away understanding their power as consumers in agriculture and how with small steps they too can help save this planet.”
